About
My name is George and I am currently in my final year of studying Music Management and Creative Enterprise at The University of Salford.
Writing has been a passion of mine for a while now. Throughout university my favourite assignments have always been the ones that involve writing about music itself – whether that be writing about an individual artist, a specific album or a certain genre of music. Think the best mark I’ve achieved at university thus far is in first year when I wrote about Elvis Costello’s contribution to punk rock and the new wave. Still have fond memories of that assignment to this day.
Had the idea of starting a music ‘blog’ sometime last year but never really pursued the idea. Given I finish university in around six months time, I figured that now was the perfect time to begin pursuing this idea and see where it takes me. And thus is born Honeymoon Suite.
I detest using the word ‘blog’ to describe Honeymoon Suite but that is essentially what it will be. For the initiation of Honeymoon Suite I am going to focus on writing album reviews and retrospectives of various artist’s careers etcetera. Over the coming months I also want to direct attention towards unearthing emerging artists and documenting the grassroots music scene.
Excited to see where Honeymoon Suite takes me.
